Seek Revelation

ree

For one year now I have read the book of Galatians every month. The pages are now filled with notes, highlights, and underlines… barely still bound in my Bible due to the amount of wear. There is a story to tell through every mark made. A story of the Holy Spirit showing me something new each time I read the same phrase, as if I had never read it. Goodness, I have likely read Galatians over 50 times and I still stand in awe.

I remember as a girl not being able to comprehend reading the same book for your whole life.

Wouldn’t it get boring?

How could there be continuous revelation or encounters with the LORD through a book?

How could something new always come out of something so old?

What is the point in rereading the same stories?

Won’t there be a point where it will all just remain in your brain?

I am so thankful the LORD has miraculously answered these questions, yet not in the way I thought He would. It’s not that I got a direct answer, it’s that I received more of Him.

No, it will never get boring. In fact, it only gets more exciting. You will learn that each word has an intricate meaning that unfolds another layer of glory. Each time you open the word, you will find something new, even if you’ve read that section your whole life. As you invite the Holy Spirit into your reading, you will find that the Word of God is truly alive and active. He will lead you in where to read and what to study. He will highlight specific verses or words that will speak deeply to your soul and spirit, administering deeply into your inner most being. The hidden parts of you that you didn’t even know existed will be revealed and filled with Him. You will find delight in entering remembrance for the faithfulness of Yahweh to every generation. Your eyes will be opened in wonder at the truth that Yeshua was never a backup plan but the very Will of God. You will be encouraged by the heroes of the faith and discover that the Old Testament and law was simply pavement for the New Covenant to be revealed through Yeshua.  You will be astonished at the purpose of every seemingly small and unimportant detail mentioned and how it pointed to the coming of Yeshua. You will learn that it’s not about stuffing your brain with knowledge but implanting truth into your heart. You will believe He is the way, the truth, and the life.

I have learned that He is in fact, The Answer. If I spend my life chasing knowledge, it has gone to waste. My pursuit should be for Him alone. The Bible is just another book if we do not read it alongside the Holy Spirit.

My biggest takeaway from my ongoing study in Galatians is that Paul received personal revelation from Yeshua Himself. It was not that man pursued him, he was feared by believers because of the way he was persecuting the church. God pursued him. God showed up as a blinding light, interrupting his path and zeal for the traditions of his father. Paul is proof that no one is too far gone to be used by God. He went from mass persecution to an apostle of Yeshua that wrote most of the New Testament. His testimony is proof of God’s supreme authority. To the world’s standards he was unqualified, but God.

So here’s my encouragement; seek revelation and allow interruption. God still speaks, gives visions, and preforms signs and wonders. Do you want to receive and experience that? I promise you that He won’t disappoint, He will actually surpass your expectation. Spend time in prayer, worship, and the Word. You can’t expect God to show up if He is just something on your checklist. You have to be intentional to invite Him into every moment and allow everything else to revolve around Him. Watch Him string your days together with holy encounters with Him.

"If we walk by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit."

~Galatians 5:25 esv

Blessings in Yeshua the Messiah,

Harper
