“To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.”
Isaiah 45:23
"As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”Romans 14:11
"So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth”
Philippians 2:10

Everyone focuses on every tongue confessing that Jesus Christ is Lord. But what is the preparation to the fulfillment of this? Movement. Every knee bowing is a prophetic act of lowering oneself beyond their physical body or soul– it extends to the spirit, prophesying the exaltation of the name of Jesus as Lord over one's whole being.
When you are dancing, your whole being is involved and submitted. When dedicated to the Lord, you become a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1) as you offer your body as a temple for the Holy Spirit to dwell in and move through (1 Corinthians 6:19). So, as we dance, we can exercise the greatest commandment to, “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might” (Deuteronomy 6:5) because our soul, spirit, and body are coming into agreement as a sacrificial offering unto the Lord.
As the body of Christ, we need to break the stronghold against physical expression. The enemy has perverted dance into an art that exalts lust, meaning that dance in its God-given purpose stewards intimacy. If dance can be used to glorify the flesh, how much more can it be used to glorify our Father in heaven?
4 Ways Dance Can Be Exercised For Ministry:
Prophetic
Example:
“Then he stretched himself upon the child three times and cried to the LORD, “O LORD my God, let this child’s life come into him again.” And the LORD listened to the voice of Elijah. And the life of the child came into him again, and he revived.”
1 Kings 17:21-22
Elijah physically prophesied life over the widow’s son and then he verbalized in agreement with the prophecy that he proclaimed through his body.
Intersession
Example:
“Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses' hands grew weary, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. And Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the sword.”
Moses’ obedience to hold his hands up during battle was a sacrificial act of intercession on behalf of the people at war.
Warfare
Example:
“You shall march around the city, all the men of war going around the city once. Thus shall you do for six days. Seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark. On the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. And when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, when you hear the sound of the trumpet, then all the people shall shout with a great shout, and the wall of the city will fall down flat, and the people shall go up, everyone straight before him.”
Joshua 6:3-5
Through their faithfulness to war in the spirit by dance, the walls came crumbling down, securing their victory without the need for a physical war.
Worship
Example:
“And David danced before the Lord with all his might. And David was wearing a linen ephod.”
2 Samuel 6:14
King David was rejoicing at the return of the ark of the covenant and his response to the return of the Lord’s holy presence was to offer a dance of worship.
Dance is a universal means of communication that has been used throughout every age, religion, and culture. It is a way that every human can physicalize the expressions of their soul i.e. thoughts, feelings, ideas, concept. As Holy Spirit filled believers of Jesus Christ, dance extends as an expression of our spirit i.e our inner most being. Through movement, we can physicalize scriptures, prophecies, and prayers.
For non-believers
We can bridge gaps and create meaningful relationships– spreading the love of Christ through witness and providing opportunities for discipleship or evangelism.
For believers
We can create meaningful relationships that allow for discipleship and mentorship– training and equipping worshippers in spirit and truth.
