Why Dance?
Outreach
Dance is not in need of a specific age, culture, or language because it is a language. Though each place has differing traditions, a story can still be communicated without a single word spoken. The story that we would like to share is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as it is the foundation. We desire for those impacted by the ministry to feel confident in their faith and testimony. As Revelation 12:11 ESV states, “And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”

Community & Mentorship
Through time together in class we are able to build meaningful relationships and provide mentorship to students.

1 Peter 5:2-3 "Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, watching over them...not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock."
The Body is a Temple and Instrument of Worship
We believe that our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit as stated in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” In Romans 12:1 ESV we are instructed to, “present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”

Psychological Benefits
Movement is known to be beneficial for cognitive development and enhancement, processing trauma and emotions, and releasing stress from the body. Our aim is to work with people affected by poverty and difficult home lives so that through dance and by the grace of God, they can work through their hardships and turn it into a testimony.
Importance of Culture
We prioritize working with the culture and not against it. A variety of dance classes will be offered, mainly Ballet and Contemporary, but will be partnered to work alongside their culture of dance. Ballet is to strengthen their technique; Contemporary is to learn how to tell a story and express emotions. We value cultural modesty and accessibility, the dress code will differ from that of secular dance schools or programs. We are not trying to create an unrealistic dream or bring American concepts, but offer a bigger tool box.
